Are you an artist needing a digital portfolio like images, recordings, videos but have outgrown your friend’s iPhone camera? We can help. We is Sergio Tallo-Torres, himself an opera singer by night and sound engineer by day and me Bettina Horvath. Together we can help you put a low-budget portfolio together, that still looks professional.
We can offer you simple session recordings, concert recordings with audio and video and portrait photography in the action. No, we are not a big media company with the latest equipment, we simply want to help up and coming artists who need to look good for their own promotion.
Here’s a video we made for Tamara Bellydance, make sure viewing in HD is activated:

I just love artists.
Over the years I have met some fantastic artists with enormous creativity. What most of them have in common is they lack a sense of business. When it comes to portraying themselves and marketing themselves they feel a big void around them, they do not know where to start, they do not know how to sell their art.
However when we as consumers like a piece of art, we usually want to connect with an artist, find out who they are, how they became an artist and follow them along their path. I feel strongly that how an artist presents him/herself online is just as important as how he/she presents their art.
In today’s world every person can have their own shopwindow. You do not need a physical shop any longer to present your goods. Your online presence, i.e. your website, your social media profiles, your forum entries, etc. are all part of your digital shopwindow.
To look good in this digital arena, you have 3 ways to present yourself:
- via text
- via images
- via audio and video
These form the foundation of a good online presence. You do not need a fancy website but you do need good text for visitors to read (and to be found by the search engines) and you need an appealing display with lots of great photos.
And of course you need to present your portfolio in one way or another. This can be very tricky because usually art cannot properly be replicated in a digital way, unless it is digital art by nature. A song’s recording can never be the same as the physical experience of a live performance on stage.
Thus we have to live with the limitations of the medium. In this scenario it becomes even more important to represent your portfolio in the highest quality possible. If you are a singer your recording must be of high quality, good microphones need to be used. You cannot compromise on quality, it will work against you.
The bigger issue then becomes the affordability of the representation of yourself as an artist and your art. Once you have made it as an artist it is easy to come by good quality recordings, images and text. But what do you do until then?
This is where we come in, my partner Sergio and I. We both are artists at heart yet are earning our bread with other skills, the ones we use to help others shine online. We know how to work with text, images, and audio online and put the pieces of the puzzle together in the best way.
As a marketing strategist I can help an artist develop their own strategy based on their budget and career path. Sergio is a sound engineering graduate working as a full technician, including sound and video, at a local TV station. Over the years we developed many diverse skills which we combine to create the perfect outcome.
